✨ Elegant Design & Craftsmanship ✨
Jin Hongyang's Celadon Pink Blue Series Teapot showcases a velvety glaze and handcrafted form. Its minimalist silhouette makes it an elegant choice for everyday brewing. This piece is a testament to her dedication to traditional Longquan celadon-making techniques. Jin, born in 2003, studied at the Celadon and Sword Design Technician Institute and Zhejiang Electromechanical Vocational Technical University. She graduated in 2023 with a major in product design.
Jin's journey began as a child raised beside kilns. Her grandfather, Jin Pin, an heir of Longyao kilns in Baoxi, immersed her in traditional celadon-making. Since age 15, she trained rigorously under master potters and kiln experts. She mastered the full spectrum of Longquan celadon production, including mountain clay selection, manual wheel-throwing, and ceremonial firing. Her passion and fidelity to the craft are evident in every piece.
In 2015, Jin joined her father, Jin Chaojun, in integrating homestay tourism, kilns, cultural study programs, and dining into a village-led economic revitalization model in Baoxi. Their model became a self-sustaining ecosystem leveraging craft heritage for community prosperity. Jin's work is featured by major media outlets, including CCTV’s Ceramic Journey and Taiwan’s China Journey.
Jin Hongyang received coverage from CCTV, Zhejiang TV, Xinhua News Agency, and other prestigious media. She delivered entrepreneurship talks at her university and taught wheel-throwing and sculpture to foreign artists at Longquan’s Tao Xi Chuan art park. In 2024, she participated in Jiangxi TV’s Chinese Ceramics Gala, producing a perfect sphere for a Kazakh ophthalmologist named Mr. Bilek. The work, titled "Vision," was selected as a Chinese national gift.
Jin Hongyang leads innovations that blend tradition with modern market design, creating a harmonious social and economic ecosystem based on inheritance, agrarian support, and innovation. At Yujian Celadon Co., Ltd., she promotes equitable community development by providing jobs for elderly and disabled residents and hiring local university graduates. Jin organizes a dragon kiln opening ceremony annually, inviting tea enthusiasts, collectors, and distributors both domestically and abroad to celebrate traditional celadon and increase international visibility.
Jin Hongyang has won numerous awards and recognition. In 2022, "Summer Lotus" featured at the Zhejiang Celadon Global Tour exhibition in Cairo, Egypt. "Pure Dust" won Bronze at the 12th China Ceramic Art Exhibition. "Summer Lotus" was acquired by the China Cultural Center in Cairo. Jin was appointed Youth Talent Ambassador by the Longquan Municipal Committee and named Zhejiang Provincial Outstanding Graduate & top work award at Zhejiang Electromechanical University. She received a Bronze prize at the 4th Chinese Celadon Conference for work Mei Shadow and a Silver Award at the Shaoxing Art & Craft Fair “Prosperous Dragon Rising” theme. In 2024, she won a Gold Award in China’s Arts & Crafts Association Year of the Dragon design contest and a National Gold, Provincial Gold at International College Student Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competitions. "Vision" was chosen as the Chinese national gift presented to an eminent Kazakh scholar.
