JIAN ZHAN COLLECTION
BAI DING PORCELAIN STUDIO

Founded in 2015 in Jianyang, the birthplace of Jian Zhan.

Rooted in tradition, we use local ore glazes and red clay bodies to carry forward the thousand-year legacy of Jian kilns. Our works highlight two signature glaze styles—Tander Sprout and Latent Grain — each piece unique, shifting like starlit skies, misty rain, or glowing sunsets.

Driven by innovation, we refine forms and firing methods such as support firing and inverted firing, while integrating carving and traditional silver inlay to enrich depth and artistry. By blending diverse ceramic traditions, we create a vibrant world of black-glazed tea ware.

With respect for heritage and a vision for the future, Baiting pursues excellence and contemporary aesthetics, striving to give new life to ancient craftsmanship and to bring Chinese tea ware into a brighter tomorrow.

Latent Grain

谷影

The“Latent Grain”JianZhan tea set, developed in 2018, is distinguished by its shimmering oil-spot glaze—golden, translucent, and radiant, reminiscent of drifting jellyfish under water or a galaxy of scattered light. The deep black glaze forms a backdrop for luminous droplets, evoking shadows among valleys—serene yet dynamic.Latent Grain embodies the thousand-year kiln tradition of JianZhan while embracing contemporary elegance, making it both a refined tea companion and a collectible work of art.

Mysterious Cyan

玄青

From the ancient Eastern classical gardens, the teaware draws its inspiration, incorporating the winding corridors and paths of Jiangnan, China, into the circular vessels. The Daylilies, known as the "forget-worry herb," is delicately woven in. The flora serves as an important muse, with the sweet fragrance and the song of the birds perched on its branches, bringing in a sense of tranquility and elegance.

Tender Sprout

水芽

The“Water Sprout”(also known as Tander Sprout) JianZhan tea set was developed in 2017. Inspired by the image of tea buds breaking through the soil and springs flowing with vitality, the collection features a distinctive blue-black glaze with luminous streaks, evoking rippling water and budding life. The full set includes a gaiwan, fairness cup, teacups, tea caddy, and more—each piece refined in form and radiant in glaze. Rooted in the millennium-old Jian kiln tradition yet infused with contemporary elegance,Water Sprout harmonizes tea and vessel, making it both a functional companion and a collectible treasure.
