Celadon Pink Blue Lotus-Patterned Tea Jar

Jin Hongyang, born in 2003, is the principal manager of Yujian Celadon Co., Ltd. She studied at the Celadon and Sword Design Technician Institute (2018) and Zhejiang Electromechanical Vocational Technical University (2021). Graduating in 2023, she majored in product design. Her journey began as a child raised beside kilns, transforming into a lifelong devotion to mastering green-glazed ware.

Professional Experience

Jin trained rigorously under master potters and kiln experts since age 15. She mastered Longquan celadon production, including mountain clay selection, manual wheel-throwing, glaze mixing, kiln reconstruction, pit-loading, ceremonial firing, traditional wood-fired dragon kilns, and reopening kilns to retrieve wares. Maintaining passion and fidelity to the craft.

Integrated Tourism Model

In 2015, Jin joined her father, Jin Chaojun, in integrating homestay tourism, kilns, cultural study programs, and dining into a village-led economic revitalization model in Baoxi. Their model became a self-sustaining ecosystem leveraging craft heritage for community prosperity.

Media Coverage

Jin’s work has been featured by major media outlets, including CCTV’s Ceramic Journey, Happy Chinese, Taiwan’s China Journey, Bring Kids to See the World, as well as Korean TV and Zhejiang Satellite TV’s Master Craftsmen. Her kiln’s plum green-glazed works are collected by experts and esteemed clientele globally.

Entrepreneurship and Awards

Upon returning home, Jin received coverage from CCTV, Zhejiang TV, Xinhua News Agency, and other prestigious media. She delivered entrepreneurship talks at her university and taught wheel-throwing and sculpture to foreign artists at Longquan’s Tao Xi Chuan art park. Jin organizes dragon kiln opening ceremonies annually.

Community Development

Through her enterprise, Jin provides jobs for elderly and disabled residents and hires local university graduates, promoting equitable community development. Jin leads innovations that blend tradition with modern market design, creating a harmonious social and economic ecosystem based on inheritance, agrarian support, and innovation.

Awards and Recognition

In 2024, Jin participated in Jiangxi TV’s Chinese Ceramics Gala, producing "Vision," a perfect sphere for a Kazakh ophthalmologist named Mr. Bilek. Titled "Vision," the work was selected through rigorous evaluation and presented as a Chinese national gift. Jin has won various awards, including a Silver Award at the Shaoxing Art & Craft Fair and a Gold Award in China’s Arts & Crafts Association Year of the Dragon design contest.

As a third-generation Longquan kiln inheritor, Jin Hongyang continues to innovate and expand awareness of Longquan celadon culture. Through cross-border e-commerce, she now achieves sales of approximately US $50,000 per livestream—making overseas sales a major channel for her studio. Jin is the Youth Talent Ambassador by the Longquan Municipal Committee and named Zhejiang Provincial Outstanding Graduate & top work award at Zhejiang Electromechanical University.
