Moon Palace Immortal • Rabbit Duner
Four hundred years ago, under the order of Chang'e, the Rabbit Lord (Tuye) descended from the Moon Palace to the mortal world to help cure a deadly plague. However, his true identity as the Jade Rabbit was accidentally discovered by the people.
Grateful for his lifesaving help, they built temples in his honor and began worshiping him as the Rabbit Deity. Since then, every Mid-Autumn Festival, the Rabbit Lord secretly returns to the human world in disguise—wearing a qilin helmet to hide his celestial origins.
He accepts the people’s offerings in secret, and only after eating until his belly is round and full does he return to the moon, continuing his eternal guardianship from afar.
